The Making of Asian America

By Erika Lee

This is a very nice book for referring to Indian American immigration. It has a lot of history about immigrants who came in early 1900s and how they were treated. Though a lot of it is about China, Vietnam and other parts of Asia, there is enough information about Indian immigration that can be useful.

Big Little Lies

Never realized KG moms are capable of this much of politics, in-fighting and yet can be so supportive. Of course the main theme of the book is domestic violence but it is woven with a great creativity. The characters feel real, the incidents do not feel forced, and the story moves with a great sense of time. The author has created tantalizing suspense by giving out just small amount of information at the end of each chapter. Very creative idea.

Overall, it is a very good book and a page-turner. But at times it feels like a soap opera and filled with gossip. It also got made into a TV movie which is very very good.
